Global Warming

Should we really be so worried about global warming? is it something that will doom us all and make our future generations hate us? I am no scientist so I can not give you a scientific answer to this question, hell I can’t even give you an educated guess on the subject. What I can tell you is that the earth is cyclical in nature, What that means the earth is always going through these shifts in climate, its is accepted theory that the earth has had ice ages, and times of relatively little ice. So you ask where am I going with this? right?

Well this is where I get to my opinion, should we try and stop global warming? No, Global warming and cooling has happened long before we came and will happen long after we are gone, unless the planet explodes, then there will be no climate to change. Before you get all up in arms saying there is proof that we are changing the environment, I do not dispute that fact. What I am saying is we need to take all things in moderation, we need to improve our technologies and roll with the environment. Yes we are putting out Co2 and causing the earth’s temperature to rise.

But should we try and stop global warming? No, we should try and minimize out impact on the environment. If that slows Global warming, great! But we should take a look at what we can do to make our environment a cleaner, better place. We should begin by making technology a key focus, why? Because advances in technology allow us to understand ourselves, our environment and our planet better. Better information and understanding allow for better use. It seems in live that a measure of a persons success is the measure of their wealth. Wealth, while useful, should not be the standard we strive for as a society, we should strive for knowledge. Knowledge is the key to our future. Yet we are content to move forward with a society bent on gaining and holding on to wealth and power. Can you imagine all the things we could accomplish if everything that was worth studying could be studied without worrying about where the money was coming from, our how you were going to pay your bills?

Could you imagine if people who came up with the life saving advances or the great scientific breakthroughs were the rockstars of our age? Can you really imagine that? Can you imagine what our world would be like? And do you think I would be writing about Global warming if we lived in that world?
