Could you beat a chimp at memory? December 11, 2007 at 9:06 pm
According to a recent Japanese study, young chimpanzees around the age of 5 do better than humans at short-term memory tests. These tests pitted college age humans against 5 year old chimps in tests that amounted to Simon. They were shown numbers for a brief amount of time and had to touch out the the numbers in the same order when the numbers disappeared from the screen. Most researchers believe it has more to do with the age of the chimp versus the age of the human that determine which species won. In a later test using chimps of the same approx age as humans, the humans won.
Makes me wonder if we should have 5 year old chimps running the white house? Oh wait…..
