So, I guess I have been super busy and been neglecting my online life. So I figured I would come give a summary of the last three months, wax philosophical for a bit then go to bed. So my parents just left, was a great visit, my dad was here for almost two months and my mom was here for a week. While dad was here we played some golf, and hung out. It was good to spend some time with him, we don’t talk much, just the way we are. Its interesting we can go play golf and have lunch and its like two old friends being together, you don’t have much to say but it is not awkward, is very comfortable and enjoyable.
Once mom got into town we headed over to Las Vegas, my wife has never been. We stayed at the MGM grand and had a good ole time walking teh strip, gambling a little and visiting family that live there. Saw the Cirque du soleil show KA. Was pretty cool, great mixture of acrobatics and acting.
I bought myself a Nexus One when they came out, absolutely love the thing. Was happy when they added multi-touch and I Can’t wait till Flash goes live on it.
I was going to wax philosophical about life, work and raising children, but I am tired, will do it another time.

So those of you who don’t know, I have moved from sunny Tampa, FL to sunny Los Angeles, CA. Was a long journey, I had been commuting to Cali for 8 months before finally making the jump and moving. And I have to say its HOT out in the Valley where I live. I will say I don’t sweat as much here as I did in Florida. The lack of humidity makes it a much more enjoyable heat. One thing I do miss is turn signals, California has an unusually low amount of turn lights. Its annoying. Anyway, happyThursday!

I attended the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Fund Raiser hosted by dkVOGUE in West Hollywood last night, was a great event with interesting people, was sponsered by dkVOGUE, Fritz Hansen, Angeleno Magazine, and Casa Noble. Was a wonderful event, the backdrop of the dkVOGUE showroom was amazing, with the classic/modern Danish furniture it made the event wonderful, eye catching and breathless at the same time. The event was to raise money for breast cancer reasearch; they sold tickets for the raffle of some wonderful prizes. Amoung the prizes were some hand painted 7 series chairs, several autographed books, two sets of 4 chairs and the egg chair. I bought 1 ticket, solely to give a donation to Cancer research, not really figuring to win anything nor was that my goal. But as luck or divine intervention, I won the main prize of the limited edition $6000 Fritz Hansen/Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair. So to my host dkVOGUE, other sponsors of the events and Fritz Hansen I would like to say thank you.

Seems like I have been, been to Phoenix, LA, Miami and soon Las Vegas. It gets tiring looking and hunting for plane tickets, rental cars and hotels. But lately I have had some good luck with TravelHero.com, I am headed back out to California soon and I was looking at San Francisco hotels and they came through for me with a great deal. The site was easy to use, I was easily able to navigate while my daughter was playing in my lap and watching TV. I will keep them in my favorites for use in the future with more travel arrangements.

Frederick Law Olmsted, nineteenth-century America’s foremost landscape architect, was born on April 26, 1822. Son of a well-to-do Hartford, Connecticut merchant, Olmsted spent much of his childhood enjoying rural New England scenery. Weakened eyesight forced him to abandon plans to attend Yale. Instead, young Olmsted studied engineering and scientific farming, putting his agricultural and managerial theories into practice on his own Staten Island farm.
Oh and its my birthday!
