So I preordered a T-Mobile G1 October 1, 2008 at 10:37 am

I pre-ordered the T-MObile G1 on the day it was announced, 9/23, and got it for $179. And then today I heard that the new 16gb Micro SD card fron Sand Disk will be compatible! I am so excited about that!

“We have completed tests, and the new SanDisk 16GB card will run on the current version of Google’s Android Phone. No new firmware required.” -Google Spokesperson

SanDisk’s 16GB microSDHC card has an MSRP of $99.99 and will be available at Best Buy Mobile stores in October and Verizon Wireless stores in November - the only major retailers in the United States to carry this mobile storage capacity in 2008.

So Needless to say I am extremely happy about this development. My only complaint I have about the phone is its proprietary headset connector, some extended mini-usb port. But hopefully someone will make an adapter so I can plug the phone into a traditional aux jack.

HTC Dream/T-Mobile G1 Coming soon! September 19, 2008 at 12:58 pm

T-Mobile is going to be announcing the first Android phone handset next week, the 23rd to be exact. This new Google phone, which BTW Google asked them not to name it, will be running Google’s OS Android and will be the first phone with the new Operating System. It looks like in preparation for this T-Mobile is bring more 3G regions online.

T-Mobile is adding, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Orlando, Sacramento, Seattle and San Francisco to its line-up of UMTS/HSDPA-served regions by mid-October and already include Boston, Baltimore, Houston, Dallas, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, Miami, and New York, the venue for the launch of the first Android phone.

And T-Mobile is looking to add even more by the end of the year with Detroit, Denver, Kansas City and Memphis, which will bring T-Mobile’s 3G service to a total of 27 regions.

Android SDK Disappointing? December 19, 2007 at 7:35 pm

So I have been using teh Android SDK for about a month now since it was released. I have to say I am disappointed, I don’t know about any other developers out there but the lack of documentation makes this SDK very hard to work with. I find it very difficult to get a very professional feel otu of the few attempts I have made to work with the API, its not what I expected from Google.

Lost and need directions? at 11:57 am

You ever been in a new city, trying to find a location and don’t have GPS or a map. With your cell phone you can get turn by turn directions directly from Google. All you have to do is text your starting address and your destination address to Google (466453) and BAM, google will send you turn by turn directions!

To get driving directions, enter your start address then ‘to’ followed by your destination address (ex: 94040 to 94043, pasadena ca to los angeles)
